GO GREEN SG 2024 LAUNCHED IN SUPPORT OF THE YEAR OF PUBLIC HYGIENE

Singapore, June 12, 2024 – Deputy Prime Minister Heng Swee Keat launched GO GREEN SG GGSG 2024, the national movement that invites all residents to take part in sustnable actions for a cleaner and greener Singapore. This year marks GGSG's dedication towards enhancing public hygiene efforts with more than 360 activities from over 180 partners across various sectors.

GGSG Launch: A Commation of Collective Effort

The GO GREEN SG movement, organized by the Ministry of Sustnability and the Environment MSE, inspire individual actions that collectively contribute towards a cleaner environment. This year's launch event was held at Republic Polytechnic, which boasts the largest Gross Floor Area among Singaporean institutions recognized with Platinum Super Low Energy Green Mark Award.

Enhancing Public Hygiene Through Collaborative Initiatives

The launch event showcased innovative initiatives leveraging technology and innovation to address environmental challenges alongside public hygiene issues. Institutions like Inter-University Environmental Coalition IUEC, Public Health Council PHC, Republic Polytechnic, EnGro Corporation Limited, SG Eco Fund recipients Witteveen+Bos, and Jalan Journey were present with booths highlighting their commitments.

Launch Event Highlights

During the launch event, a thought-provoking short film commissioned by MSE was unveiled to emphasize individual actions' impact on our shared environment. The film underscores the importance of upholding good public hygiene practices for the mntenance of Singapore's cleanliness and greenery, avlable for viewing at MSE's social media platforms.

GGSG 2024 Activities Overview

GGSG activities were made accessible online starting World Environment Day on June 5th, encouraging participation through registrations.
